This year's flat competition features all your favorite conspiracy theories, urban legends, and cryptids! Bigfoot, crystals, mysterious hitchhikers...indulge in your favorite wild speculation or kooky story, and share it with us in a flat. Your fringe element can show up in your base, your verse, or both. (Please do stick to the more fun kind of conspiracy theory; this isn't the place for stuff that gets people riled up in the real world.)

Remember that the flat competition is solved under time pressure and without references, so bear that in mind when you're choosing your bases and your cluing. Any flat type found in the updated online guide or that has appeared recently in the Enigma is fair game.

Please send your flats to with "Flat submission" or something similar in the subject line. Flats must be received by June 15.
